Both pedestrian volume and patterns of foot traffic that will be tracked through the location is critical, as well as varying soil types that the carpet is likely to encounter. Consideration must also be given to the formats for delivery and transport of goods, plant and equipment. Particular attention must be given to critical areas such as entrance areas and elevator lobbies where traffic and exposures are greatest.
Additionally the choice of carpet finish (e.g. loop pile versus cut pile), the carpet fibre (e.g. wool versus nylon versus blended) along with designs, colours and pattern coverage will all combine to influence on how well your carpet will suit its purpose as well as how readily it will show soil and retain an acceptable level of appearance.
